OMG! Spreading the good word

Clothing company OMG! etc. designs and produces T-shirts and accessories with positive messages that inspire faith, hope, and love. The company asked us to design an identity for OMG!, create a logo for their “Child of God” series, and design a catalog for all the T-shirts in the current line. They were looking for a fun, creative approach, something with soft colors that would appeal to men, women, and children.

BRANDING OMG!

Since the company name is an exclamation “OMG!”, it was a natural fit to use a word bubble as the basis for the mark. We duplicated the bubble in various sizes and colors to reflect the sizes of the T-shirts, from adult to infant. Then we selected a palette with eye-catching colors and softened the look by overlapping the bubbles and colors. The typeface we chose has a friendly retro feel that helps to set the tone of the products and messages.

CATALOG

The company gave us free reign to create a fun and unexpected catalog design that would set them apart from the competition. Since the logo idea was an extension of the name itself, we followed suit with a T-shirt catalog in the shape of a T-shirt. This gave us the opportunity to showcase the T-shirt designs as they would appear on the T-shirt without showing page after page of photos of the merchandise. Each page shows the design on the front and all the sizing, options, and ordering information on the back. The catalog is bound at the corner, allowing the pages to fan out for easy viewing.

CHILD OF GOD SERIES

We created a simple line-drawing of a baby’s face and chose hand-written type and a halo for the “o” in the “Child of God” logo as a playful look for babies and kids.

Company President Helen Brightbill Daruszka worked closely with our team to ensure the right look and feel for every aspect of the project. Her enthusiasm and trust gave us the opportunity to be as creative as the budget would allow. Her first tradeshow with the new branding and catalog raised her visibility and increased sales over the prior year.
