Boost Studio is proud to have been chosen as the Agency of Record for the Intention Technology Tricorder X-Prize Challenge. The local award-winning branding firm will create branding and communications for the project as well as helping to design the actual product entry.
The Tricorder X-Prize Challenge is an international challenge providing $10 million in award money to a team that can prove best-able to create the fabled “tricorder”, a non-invasive medical device that can diagnose diseases in the body. The concept comes from the science-fiction television show Star Trek, but the competition is very real. An official announcement from the X-Prize Foundation of all the competing teams will be made next month, but Intention Technology intends to move ahead with their project and expects to be an official team.
“Developing this technology is important,” said Tracy Ingram, CEO of Intention Technology. “We’re putting together a team of the smartest people we can in order to revolutionize the way people understand their bodies and their health. The impact upon health care, triage, personal care and even parents checking on their kids, is virtually unlimited.”
The X-Prize Foundation is most famous for its first challenge to have a private, non-governmental, group build and fly a reusable vehicle that could venture into space twice in two weeks. The winning entry of that competition is now found in the National Air & Space Museum in Washington, D.C. and it launched the company known as Virgin Galactic which will be providing flights into space for those of us who aren’t NASA astronauts.
