The American Advertising Federation Suncoast wanted a fresh concept and a new look for their annual ADDY Awards show. To encourage members to enter the competition and support the Federation, the theme would need to focus on the myriad categories available for entry. Because the ADDY Awards showcase the best creatives in our community, the show design must also live up to the level of its distinguished audience.
Working with the ADDY creative team, Alex Stafford, Gail Silverman, Vivian Owen, Shelby Dunbar, and Tim Sukits, we designed the smartphone thumbs-up icon and addy “apps” to reflect the show theme: “There’s and Addy for That”. We then adapted the phone and icons to work cohesively with all the show components and across multiple platforms: invitations, postcards, eblasts, banners, posters, stickers, the award booklet, keynote presentation graphics, and twitter background.
The 2012 AAF Suncoast ADDY Awards received over 400 entries, one of the highest number of submissions in Suncoast history. The show was a big success, especially the live twitter feed and the thumbs-up stickers each attendee used to vote for the Peoples Choice Award. Our show concept and design was chosen for the 4th District AAF ADDY Award Conference in Orlando.
