Clean design
These are two words we use a lot at Boost Studio. They can be found on our homepage, in our case studies, and in our design philosophy. But more important, the concept of clean is apparent in every project we produce. It affects the way things are built, how they function, the way we see, interact, communicate, and create. Clean is at the core of the way we do what we do.
Simplify, simplify!
The words of Thoreau encouraging us to live a simpler life resonates deeply with us because simplicity is a big part of being clean. Simple is not boring, unintelligent, or plain. It is the presence of only what is necessary and nothing more. It’s about refining and removing the superfluous at every step, from concept to strategy, design to development, and production to implementation. As we work, we continually ask ourselves, “is this element necessary?”, “what can we take away?”, and “can this be simplified further?”.
Working clean is a lot of work.
It may sound easy to just remove the clutter from a layout, but being able to effectively tell a client’s story, build their brand, create a brochure, ad, or print campaign, design and develop their website, app, or touchscreen, with the least number of elements and achieve an award-winning result is an art and a science. The art is visual elegance. The science is effective functionality.
Visual elegance is achieved through a perfect balance of design elements that include form, texture, composition, font and color, combined with creativity and style. A memorable logo, eye-catching ad, or engaging website all begin with elegant design that lays the foundation for effective communication and interaction. But, making things look clean is only part of the equation. It is the positive experience of the end user that drives our commitment to clean function. Ease of use, intuitive navigation, quick response – all working seamlessly across every platform and device.
Commitment
Our commitment to the philosophy of clean is what sets us apart from other agencies and ensures the successful outcome of every project. When all components are designed and built clean, there are more opportunities for positive market feedback, increased viewer interaction and engagement, and a higher degree of recognition and consumer attention that drives sales.
